News | CAP welcomes Izzy Roberts-Orr to its Board of Directors

We’re thrilled to be welcoming artist, producer and festival director, Izzy Roberts-Orr to our Board. Izzy is a Narrm-based writer, producer and broadcaster who grew up between Footscray and Alice Springs. Izzy is Artistic Director and Co-CEO of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, and the Digital Writers’ Festival and a Co-Director of Broadwave podcasting network. Her practice spans new media, sound, stage, page, curation and public space and explores feminisms, futures and empathy. We’re glad and proud to have Izzy join us as we launch into a tremendous stage of activity and development at CAP.

Izzy brings her experience both as an artist herself and a champion of artists to the CAP Board.

“Artists are often at the forefront of great innovation – but makers need space to be messy, and support to take risks. Creative communities make up so much of what we’re proud of in this city, and as our population booms and rents increase in urban areas, it’s vital we ensure there is still a home here for creative industries and for independent makers and thinkers.”

CAP’s Chair, Daniel Besen, welcomed Izzy saying

“Izzy’s expertise strengthens and diversifies the Contemporary Arts Precincts Board at a pivotal time for the organisation. We’re extraordinarily pleased to welcome Izzy to the Board and look forward to working with her”.
